Sister Wives - Viewers Are Worried About Dayton

Photos have surfaced of Cody and Robin with four of their kids filming for presumably season 20 because we know season 19 is about to premiere.

They look like a happy Fundy family celebrating Easter in the footage and photos that have been circulating. All of Robin’s children still maintain the McMansion as their permanent residence, even Robin’s three adult children.

However, one of her adult children was noticeably absent from the new footage that has been circulating and has been absent from filming for much of season 18.

Okay, let’s start out with this photo that has been circulating on social media. I think this originated on TikTok, and I was alerted to this when it was reposted in my Facebook group. Supposedly, Robin, Cody, and four of their kids were spotted filming recently.

They definitely look like a church family on Easter to me, but Easter was a while ago, so I cannot wait to find out five years from now what they were actually filming.

Maybe it was something for Father’s Day, who knows? A lot of people have been commenting on the way Robin’s older girls are dressed. Many have pointed out Aurora’s oversized bow, which appears to make her look younger. Others have noted that it is on trend right now with young women. Whether or not it is on trend, the bow with the pastel dress and the looks of the rest of the family is giving an infantilized Fundy family vibe to me. We know Robin loves to portray her kids as younger than they actually are. Ariella is 8 years old now and will be 9 in January. I would go so far as to say Cody doesn’t really have any babies anymore. All of his kids are kids, and most of them are adults.

Last season, Cody complained a lot about how he and Robin were never allowed to be in love and find solace in each other because the “big bad hags” that were the OG3 were cramping their style and ruining their love story. But let us not forget what Cody told us in the season 17 one-on-one tell-all: “I won’t go to a place where I’m not respected because love doesn’t matter to me; respect matters to me.” All Cody wants is some R-E-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to him.

I have always wondered how that attitude is going to work for Cody and Robin’s marriage if Robin can’t keep her children in full compliance. Cody’s relationship with Janelle’s kids is the reason why Janelle finally left Cody back in season 17.

It was reported that Dayton was living in an RV on the McMansion property. He was actually seen exiting the RV during that Halloween segment at the McMansion when Saul and Ari went trick-or-treating around Robin’s house. Was Dayton living in this RV to gain some independence, or was he essentially kicked out? Well, this kind of answers that question.

During the season 17 tell-all, Robin brought her kids in full compliance with their COVID agreement, and when they didn’t, they got to be out of the home. Many of the older Brown children do not participate in filming the show anymore.

Most notably, Logan has made it clear that he wants to be as far away from filming as possible. He still goes to family events, but the parents accommodate his request to not film.

In Christine’s wedding special, the camera caught him in fleeting moments, but he didn’t participate in couch interviews or anything like that. Logan lives on his own in Las Vegas, so his absence from being on screen makes sense and is easily explained away.

Dayton is clearly balking at filming, and without even being on camera, he shits all over Cody’s grand Christmas gifting. I love it. I am genuinely worried about Dayton, though. Over the years, I think it’s been obvious that Dayton has struggled the most with the adoption, and not just the adoption, but the attempt by Cody and Robin to completely erase his biological father from his, Aurora’s, and Briana’s lives. He looked absolutely shellshocked throughout the various adoption proceedings that are filmed for the show, and he looked dejected when Cody and Robin announced that Preston had agreed to sign away his parental rights. I don’t know exactly what Cody and Robin thought this was going to come off like, but the way it reads now, it’s very much giving parental alienation.

Dayton is now a college graduate, and I actually think he double-majored. So yeah, I’m not surprised he wasn’t impressed by Cody’s redneck scooters.

With the OG kids, we see that they have all gotten much closer recently, and it seems like they are leaning on each other more and more these days.

Clearly, Aurora and Briana are trying to not upset the status quo too much, so it looks like they are falling in line compliance-wise. But that kind of leaves Dayton on an island by himself.

I honestly don’t know what’s worse: getting fully kicked out of your house like how Cody wanted Janelle to do to her kids or being forced to live in an RV outside your family’s house and watch all of the good, compliant kids get rewarded with things like running water.

It will be interesting to see what filming looks like going forward with Cody and Robin and their kids. Last year was pretty lame with the forced scenes like Aurora’s ear-piercing and then those body doubles that took the scooters out for a ride on Coyote Pass.

All of the OG kids consider all of the kids as brothers and sisters, so I hope they take Dayton under their wing. I know they would if he were receptive.
