Update News: Kody Brown Talks Deep Depression Amid Triple Divorce
Amid a difficult triple divorce, Sister Wives star, Kody Brown discusses the deep depression he is experiencing.
While one divorce can take its toll on a family unit, having three in a matter of fourteen months can wreak havoc.
Although The Browns uniquely wanted to share the ins and outs of plural marriage and how it can be prosperous, instead they, unfortunately, unraveled in the public eye.
Kody Brown Processes His Divorces
Undoubtedly, Sister Wives patriarch, Kody Brown, has many things to process after exiting three of his four marriages. Undeniably, divorce is hard on everyone, but especially a multiarmed, plural family experiencing a domino effect of divorce.
In an exclusive with People, Kody talks about the work he is doing to heal. He says, “It’s a journey that goes inward and it’s a journey that’s outward.”
Admittedly, the relationships are changing constantly with his ex-wives, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown. Reflectively he says, “You have to express forgiveness to the people you’ve been involved with. You have to express understanding.”
Additionally, he focuses on what remains. He adds, “And hope that at the end of an era for us as a family we still have hope of a friendship and a loving or kind relationship with each other in the future.”
Reminding the connection that still exists, “Because we’re bound forever through our kids.”
It’s Been A Painful Process
But the Sister Wives star went on to say that it has been very painful for him. All in all, Kody Brown is hoping for more understanding to come within the family.
In illustration, he says, “Really I just look forward to a future of a lot of forgiving and a lot of … just more understanding.”
Additionally, Kody speaks on confidence in his mending process. He says a “few things have happened recently that have really, I guess you could say, built my confidence back.”
Explaining he adds, “Because it destroys your confidence when you go through a divorce or a family breakup.”
Kody Brown Discusses Depression
While in no fashion is this a stereotypical divorce, Kody Brown does discuss the deep depression they feel as a family with the loss of what they previously had.
He states, “We are not recovering from this.” Clarifying he says, “I mean, it’s not clinical depression, but we’ve been a bit depressed about what the experience did.”
Emphasizing the difficulty he rephrases, “That’s an understatement. But we’ve been through a very hard experience and our reaction to it has changed us. We are not the same.”
Kody Brown Admits He Sabotages Out Of Anger
Thinking back on some of his actions, Kody Brown admits in the Sister WivesTell Alls he was sabotaging his relationship out of anger.
He made remarks about leaving Robyn and having another lover. But realized he would one day look at that person and have to admit he loved Robyn. In his playout of the scenario, he says it would force him to admit to the fictitious person his feelings.
Saying, “I’m in love with a woman that I left because I was too much a piece of s— to manage the relationship.’ And what it was was just anger and I’m embarrassed.”
Seemingly, he just wanted an escape from the stress at the moment.
