General Hospital Spoilers : Why Emme Rylan Did Not Reprise Her Role? Back Stage Beef Between Actress And The Production?
For years now the loyal General Hospital fandom has been waiting for the day when Lulu Spencer finally wakes. Time and again, we have encountered storyline junctures that required Lulu to be awake and present, but it never really happened. Even when Charlotte went completely off the rails under Victor’s control, she needed her mother.
But the makers of the ABC soap did not wake the character up from her coma. However, all past disappointments can now be put to rest as Laura Collin’s daughter is all set to come out of her sleeping beauty phase. But there’s a twist, Lulu’s role is being recast. When she finally returns to the land of the awake, Emme Rylan won’t be playing the part.
There have been many rumors circulating on the internet regarding a possible recast for a while now. However, there was never any confirmation regarding it from a reputable source. But all of that changed when Lulu’s previous portrayer, Emme Rylan, took to her Instagram story to confirm that the news was true.
Emme wrote in her story that General Hospital is indeed recasting the role of Lulu Spencer. Furthermore, she added that she is disappointed with the makers’ decision. Thus implying that she perhaps was interested in returning to the role. So, does that mean the makers did not want her back on the soap? It does sound like that.
The GH alum also added that after knowing the update, she finally got some closure. Again, does that mean she was hoping that someday the makers would offer her the role back? Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. But we are happy to see that Emme is willing to put this behind her and move on with her life.
Before signing out, Emme Ryaln took a moment to thank all her fans who have supported her through her journey. Coming to the recast, there is still no confirmation as to who will play Lulu when she wakes up. But if that changes, we’ll report back to you on the double.
Meanwhile, what’s your take on the makers’ decision to recast the role? Do you have any suggestions on who should play the role? Tell us in the comments.
