Lulu Spencer has been in a coma on General Hospital since 2020 after surviving an explosion at the Floating Rib. But the role was recently recast, which means the character will wake up sometime soon. Her family recently found out that Luke and Laura’s daughter is in dire need of a new liver. All My Children Star Joins Show As New Lulu Spencer
Alexa Havins played Babe Carey Chandler on All My Children from 2003–2007. The actress earned a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actress category in 2005. Babe had many romantic entanglements on the show but fans loved her and JR Chandler together.
Coincidentally, General Hospital vet Jacob Young played JR Chandler on the AMC opposite Alexa Havins. Actress Emme Rylan previously played Lulu but revealed in August that she wasn’t asked back and the show was recasting. ABC announced in September that Alexa Havins is stepping into the role but her air date has yet to be revealed.
In addition to her acting career, Havins is also a wife and mother of three. She has been married to her All My Children co-star Justin Bruening since 2005, and they have three children together.
General Hospital Possible Life-Saving Donors
Lulu’s family has been searching far and wide to find a donor for Lulu. Many of her family and friends were already tested and weren’t a match. Lulu’s cousin, Carly, sent Jason overseas to find Lulu’s brother Lucky to see if he was a match.
Unfortunately, Lucky found out in a recent episode that he wasn’t a match to donate part of his liver to his sister. According to a Reddit thread, others who were tested and not a match include Lulu’s half-brother Ethan, her uncle Cyrus, and her cousin Lucas, who was adopted and isn’t a blood relative.
Lulu’s other brother, Nikolas, is currently in prison but was also tested and wasn’t a match. Longtime viewers remember that Nikolas saved Lulu’s life back in 1996 when he donated bone marrow. But he can’t save her life again, so who can?
The list of possible donors is dwindling as more characters find out they aren’t a match for Lulu. Three possible candidates still remaining are Sam McCall, Martin Grey, and Steven Lars Webber, who is returning to town soon. Sam was reportedly tested a while ago and wasn’t a match but many fans think she will end up being the donor somehow.
Will Sam Save Lulu?
It was announced in August that Kelly Monaco had been let go from the role after over two decades. The general theory is that the show will kill Sam off somehow and Sam’s liver will save Lulu.
One General Hospital fan wrote on Reddit, “I think it would be great to have Sam be the donor. Think how much drama that would call up for Dante to have his girlfriend on deaths door and then be the perfect match for his first love. Pure drama magic.”
