Don’t be surprised if Sam looks a little different again on General Hospital this week! Lindsay Hartley will once again be filling in for Kelly Monaco for a few episodes.
Hartley recently took over for Monaco in the Aug. 22 and 23 episodes of GH and Soap Opera Digest is reporting that the episodes that will be airing this week were filmed at the same time as the funeral.
Because the soap shoots some scenes out of sequence, this is why Monaco has been back on screen for a while and Hartley will be seen again now.
Monaco originated the role of Sam McCall back in 2003, and it wasn’t until the summer of 2020 that Hartley was first tapped to fill in for her.
After a few more episodes in January 2022, Hartley was back again for another brief stint in January 2024. As with her previous appearances, the September 2024 stint will also be brief.
During her last appearance on GH, Hartley was delighted to reunite with her former Passions co-star and BFF, Brook Kerr (Portia).
After making her daytime debut on that NBC sudser, Hartley went on to appear as Arianna Hernandez on Days of Our Lives and Cara Castillo on All My Children.
She has also starred in numerous television movies and even taken to writing and directing them!
Unfortunately, while Monaco will be back as Sam very shortly, that two-decade run is slated to come to an end this fall.
Fans were stunned by the news that Monaco was out at GH and quickly began creating petitions and social media campaigns to try and save her job.
