In recent installments of the fan-favorite soap, several bullets were directly shot into the chest of John ‘Jagger’ Cates.

Sonny decided to take out the threat who was coming after his family, with him shooting John dead which left fans and viewers of the show up in arms.

One fan on Reddit has shared how they don’t agree with the recent killing in the soap opera. They wrote on the platform, “Sonny killing Cates was so cringe.”

In their post, they went on to ask, “Wth are these writers thinking? Who wants to see shootings on a soap when we have more than enough of that in real life? Soaps should be a fun escape.”

The poster then fumed that “Sonny is NOT a hero, yet the show worships the character as if he walks on water”.

“Same with Jason. GH is like watching some bizarro upside-down world in which law enforcement of any kind are bumbling fools and mobsters have hearts of gold,” they went on.

“The show continually tries to gaslight its audience into thinking that Sonny, Carly, and Jason are not hypocritical POS’s. It’s all gotten so tiresome.

“I keep tabs on the show because GH used to be soooo good, but Sonny Corinthos has become the undoing of a once-great show,” they concluded.

Someone else agreed, pleading, “I wish we could go back to the old GH days before Sonny. This mob storyline has been going on so long. Sonny is given a free pass for every murder and the show revolves around him.”

They added, “He kills people and is never held accountable. It send[s] such a bad message.

“It is like everyone in Port Charles is under some spell where it is ok to go around killing people.”

A second person then commented, “It’s tiring watching Sonny getting away with literal murder over and over again and Jason and Carly defending him. I loved Jossyln telling Carly off it’s something she needs to hear.”

“I can’t even watch this storyline knowing Sonny is most likely gonna get away with murdering a federal agent,” added a third.

But not everybody agreed, with someone else weighing in with, “Is this your first time tuning in in the last 30 years? People have been getting shot on GH for even longer than that. Stop trying to sanitize television over your delicate sensibilities.”

And another agreeing, “Sonny triggers you guys so much you don’t even make sense. People have been getting shot on soap operas for 40 years. Every character on this show has killed or covered up a killing nothing new under the sun.”

‘I WILL MISS YOU ALL’

Adam J. Harrington played the role of the now-deceased character, John ‘Jagger’ Cates.

When the 51-year-old departed the soap, he took to social media to gush, “Well @GeneralHospital it was a BLAST, literally!”

“To @valentinifrank, producers and writers. Thank you for the SHOT at joining your world. I loved it,” he went on.

“To the phenomenal cast and crew. It was an honor to witness the CALIBER of your work.”

Adam then emotionally concluded his post, “Now, seriously, I will miss you all.”

BELOVED SOAP OPERA

General Hospital is reported to be the longest-running serial produced in Hollywood and the longest-running entertainment program in ABC television history.

The series follows the lives of the diverse and evolving citizens of the fictional town of Port Charles in upstate New York.

But in recent months, there have been several changes to the cast, with some leaving, new actors joining, and old actors making triumphant comebacks.

CAST CHANGES

Last month it was revealed that Kelly Monaco, who has played the role of Sam McCall since 2003, would depart the show this fall.

After more than two decades on the ABC soap opera, Kelly is set to make her final appearance on the soap this fall.

According to reports that “it wasn’t Kelly’s decision to leave” the soap opera, with her even allegedly “blindsided” by the news, as per Soap Opera Network.

The outlet also states that Sam will be “killed off” in the soap, with her final appearance on the show coming.

Kelly’s General Hospital exit also marks several other soap stars from the show returning, such as Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer who recently returned, and Rick Hearst also making a comeback recently as Ric Lansing.
