General Hospital News: Jacqueline Grace Lopez Confirms Blaze Exit – “I Didn’t See It Coming”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that fans won’t be seeing Blaze a.k.a. Allison “Allie” Rogers anytime soon. The singing sensation headed out on a flight during the Tuesday, August 13 episode, joining Miguel Morez’s (Ricky Martin) world tour.

She ended up firing her momanager before exiting, and now it turns out that Jacqueline Grace Lopez was officially let go from the soap, with her final air date being on Tuesday. The actress recently spoke out about her departure.

GH Spoilers: Jacqueline Grace Lopez’s Instagram Post

GH spoilers note that Blaze left town for the tour, after Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) encouraged her to leave. The two ladies broke up during a heartfelt scene during Tuesday’s show.

Lopez confirmed she was let go on Instagram. Posting a series of photos (and a couple of videos) with some GH cast and crew, she started off the caption with:

“Not gonna lie, this goodbye hurts. I think because I didn’t see it coming. That and when you spend almost two years with this group, you start to feel like part of the fabric.”

She would go on to thank GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini for inviting her back to join the soap, as well as the cast and crew.

In her GH goodbye post she noted, “Jobs come and go, but it’s the people you miss. I’m definitely going to miss this bunch.”

While Lopez was cut from the daytime drama abruptly, she remained focused on the good experience she had with the show and the friendships she made.

GH Spoilers: Jacqueline Grace Lopez  – Representation Matters

Lopez went on to mention just how much representation matters in her IG post, noting, “I’ve mentioned that as a brown girl, it’s so hard to see ourselves in media, period.”

She added, “To have writers introduce Latiné story elements because of my character? Even adding a Latiné last name to my character’s name?”

She was also happy over those additions and the onscreen family she received as a “non-contract” character. In addition, she acknowledged that what was meant to be a 10-episode run for her character ended up being a two-year stint.

She also recognized the fan support she received, wit viewers embracing, “… Blaze’s journey as a gay woman.”

Lopez wrapped up her IG post with, “Ultimately, my joy in this work is to help people feel seen. And for that reason alone, this chapter of Blaze was an absolute gift.”

While she noted it did feel sudden, she trusts in timing. The actress ended things with, “Heading out of Port Charles with nothing but gratitude. Thank you @generalhospitalabc”
