Could you imagine a 2024 Robin surfing? I mean, I could imagine 2024 Christine surfing.
Heck, I could even see 2024 Mary surfing, but 2024 Robin surfing? No, that would be much too dangerous. 2010 Robin and Cody didn’t seem like they contemplated whether or not situations or family members were safe to be around.
I’m not sure if their favorite therapy word “safe” had entered their vocabulary yet. Robin’s initial tagline was about wanting to be part of the team.
She always wanted to live plural marriage, now she was finally getting the family she always wanted.
Robin was younger than Cody’s first three wives, so that meant that she could bond with Cody’s oldest daughters almost like more of an older sister.
Madison even had a nickname for Robin; she called her “birdie” in season 1. If Madison does have a nickname for Robin now, I don’t think it’s an affectionate one, that’s for sure. For his part, Cody emphasized how much he always wanted his kids to all grow up together as full siblings, and yet now in 2024, some kids get lavished with luxury Christmas presents that they don’t even want.
I mean seriously, none of Robin’s kids seemed particularly jazzed about the electric bicycles, and then others don’t even warrant a “Merry Christmas” phone call like poor Savannah.
Early season Cody prided himself on how unpatriarchal as just a goofy dad that just does what his Alpha wives tell him to do.
Now, Cody in 2024 seems to only be able to reward loyalty to the family members who bend the knee. His kids used to be allowed to question his decisions. If a kid wanted to do something that Cody said no to, he would tell his kids to sell him on it.
He appeared to be open to differing opinions, he appeared to be willing to change his mind. Now, differing opinions to him are seen as a betrayal. To call this an extremely unhealthy personality devolution would really be an understatement.
I’ll be honest, I never really bought what Robin was selling in those early seasons. Like I said in the beginning of this video, she always gave me “other woman” energy. But at least Robin seemed spirited and happy in those early seasons.
Cody and Robin seem to now be claiming that the OG3 were holding them back from their true love, but we’ve never been allowed to essentially be in love with each other or find solace in each other. I don’t really think that this is the case.
The pandemic gave Cody and Robin the ability to almost exclusively only be around each other. It’s been over four years at this point.
We saw them during those talk-back and look-back specials. They don’t seem to have found solace in each other.
I don’t understand why she keeps playing this, and I think it’s because she’s addicted to being a victim. Honestly, they seem like codependent misery addicts, just one enabling the other to live their absolute most miserable life.
When you think of true love, of just love finding a way against all odds, is this what you imagine? Both Cody and Robin seem to have been far better versions of themselves before they closed ranks inside the McMansion.
And when you compare that to Mary, Janelle, and Christine, the juxtaposition between the OG3 now and Cody and Robin now is just glaring. Christine has since remarried, but Mary and Janelle are single, and they seem exponentially more happy without Cody’s love than how they were living for the last, I mean, several years.
I would expect to see Cody and Robin living their best lives too. I know a lot of people in love; I myself am very much in love with my husband. I hope to God my marriage doesn’t look like this to other people, because if this is love, who would want it? Cody and Robin seem to only be satisfied with being miserable.
You cannot tell me that these two are happily oblivious now. I just wouldn’t buy it. You look at where they started and where they are now, and I’m telling you guys, it feels like Cody and Robin destroyed each other.
