‘Sister Wives’: How Robyn Brown’s Confusing Statements About Polygamy Might Be Her Demise In Season 19

In advance of the hit TLC series Sister Wives’ 19th season, fans are speculating that there will be all new sorts of drama. While an official airdate has not yet been confirmed, the latest season is set to premiere sometime in late August or early September.

Longtime viewers of the show are expecting to see tension between Kody Brown and his sole wife Robyn rise to the surface. Rumors have been swirling that Robyn hasn’t been happy lately, and that her perspective on polygamy may even be changing.

Robyn’s initial entry into the Brown family came as a bumpy one. She married Kody in 2010 shortly before the first season of Sister Wives premiered, making her Kody’s fourth wife and the youngest of the bunch.

Prior to dating Kody, Robyn had previously been in a monogamous marriage with her now-ex, David Jessop.

Part of what drew her to Kody was his polygamous lifestyle, but when Robyn officially joined the family, there was often tension over how Kody divided his time among his wives.

The other women claimed that Kody was only focused on Robyn, and even that she demanded more than her fair share of his attention.

Since then, Kody’s first three wives have left him, and now Robyn is his sole remaining partner.

Now Robyn finds herself – though she entered into her marriage because she was drawn to aspects of polygamy, now she finds herself in what seems to be a monogamous relationship once more.

Robyn Brown’s True Feelings About Her Marriage

It’s been hard to pinpoint how exactly Robyn feels about her new situation.

Though at times throughout the show she’s been spotted crying when the other women’s divorces from Kody have come up, it has often been speculated that Robyn’s tears are fake.

Some fans have claimed that while Robyn wants to appear empathetic on camera, she was actually pleased about Meri, Christine, and Janelle leaving Kody.

This theory is in keeping with other rumors about Robyn that, throughout the seasons, she’s wanted to drive a wedge between Kody and his other wives, and sometimes even between Kody and his children, too.

Certainly this kind of behavior doesn’t seem to reflect a full acceptance of polygamy, which in part relies on each of the women helping care for the others’ children as if they were their own.

It’s possible that Robyn’s marriage to Kody has been a long game for her, and that she always had her eye on driving the others away.

There’s no doubt, however, that standing by Kody’s side throughout the various splits comes as a source of stress for her.

Some watchers have noted with concern that more recently Robyn looks extremely tired and worn down, a far cry from the enthusiastic young woman she was on the earlier seasons of the show.
