Mykelti reveals the new setting for Season 19, “North Carolina,” and she leaves to avoid “trouble” in the family.

The Sister Wives family is no stranger to drama. It all began when Robyn Brown married polygamist Kody Brown, sparking various disagreements within the households. Eventually, the other wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine, left Kody, a move that fans praised as powerful. However, the household had already suffered significant damage.

Being a part of a polygamous family took a toll on the Brown children, many of whom chose to distance themselves from their father, Kody.

However, some still try to maintain contact, including Mykelti Padron. Interestingly, Mykelti’s recent decision to move to North Carolina takes her away from her family home. So, what led to Mykelti’s move? Find out here.

Sister Wives: Mykelti Wants To Avoid Family Drama!

Previously, Sister Wives star Mykelti Padron announced her move to North Carolina with her husband, Tony Padron, and their kids.

At that time, she did not disclose the reasons behind their decision. However, she recently opened up about it on her Patreon account with Tony.

Unlike other Brown kids, Mykelti tries to stay in contact with Kody and his wife, Robyn, while also supporting her mother, Christine’s decision to leave Kody.

She chose to stay by Christine’s side in Utah when she needed her the most. However, with Christine happily married to husband David Woolley, Mykelti believes her mother is doing well on her own.

“Some of the reasons we chose to move to Lehi, too, was kind of to make it easier for my mom to separate [from Kody], to leave, to have a home base, to have kids close by to have a support system,” Mykelti explained. “And now she’s got all of that.

She’s got her support system; she’s got the love of her life.

She has people, she’s good. She doesn’t need me to hold her hand.”

While Mykelti stays in touch with family members, she also wants to avoid the ongoing drama. [It’s] a way to distance ourselves from the drama,” she expressed.

“And really just figure out our own lives and our own things that we want to do with our kids.” The Sister Wives star added that she never wanted to live “super close” to her family.

“I’ve always wanted to be able to do my own thing and be independent and run my life how I like it and kind of how I want to,” she explained.

Sister Wives: Janelle Is Moving To North Carolina?

During the discussion on their Patreon account, Mykelti and Tony revealed more reasons behind their move to North Carolina.

Tony has secured a job as a chess instructor at a top chess academy in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Moreover, Mykelti, who was working a sales job, has been allowed to work remotely in North Carolina. These opportunities likely played a major role in their decision to move to the Tar Heel State.

During the session, Tony mentioned that Janelle also resides in North Carolina. Mykelti added that they were not supposed to reveal this, hinting that this storyline might be featured in the next season of Sister Wives. As of now, Janelle has not confirmed the news.

She continues to state that she lives in Flagstaff, Arizona, and has been splitting her time between there and North Carolina for the past six months.
